Profile

Annie brings a vibrancy to any place of work. As well as being an excellent communicator, she is friendly and personable and will maintain composure in pressurised situations. Her practical strengths lie in her versatility shown through a range of skills that include hairdressing, Afro hair work, period and modern styling, wig-making and styling, makeup, men’s hair and barbering. She also has the administrative awareness and experience for fittings, day-to-day management, job set up and job take down. 

Formally trained at the College of North-East London and The London College of Fashion, Annie’s training included hairdressing, wig-making, Theatrical and Media Makeup and Art. Her first jobs were in the wig departments of the English National Opera, National Theatre and Madame Tussauds. In these places she sharpened her knowledge and understanding of historical hair and makeup. Annie’s first ascent into television was during ITV’s period drama Victoria, starring Jenna Coleman. Since then, she has worked on other acclaimed high-end TV dramas for Amazon Prime, ITV and the BBC. She has also worked on award-winning shows like Small Axe and Sitting in Limbo as well as The Power, Noughts and Crosses and Silent Twins. Additionally, Annie recently took on the position of Hair and Makeup Designer for the film ‘Twig’ which opened Dublin Film Festival this year.  In 2021, Annie was nominated by industry professionals and chosen to become a ScreenSkills Leader of Tomorrow.
