Jahmeca is a well trained and competent Hair and Makeup Artist. She completed a degree in Media Makeup for Fashion BA Honours and then went on to do an FdA in Special Effects Makeup. Over her time on these courses, she learnt crucial media techniques such as wig application, postiche and creating prosthetics. In her undergraduate training, she acquired superb knowledge of historical and period looks as well as editorial makeup. In 2023 she also completed the Level 2 barbering qualification at Knowsley Community College. This diverse training has made her well equipped to work on different genres in TV and film.
After university she worked as a freelance makeup artist, providing hair and makeup services to private clients. She then started working as a makeup artist for Chique Photography and Makeover Studios in West Yorkshire, where she delivered hair and makeup to large groups within a short time period. Jahmeca was presented with an opportunity to work as a trainee on the main team of Sky film, ‘Breaking Point’. She did so well on this production that she was immediately head hunted to work at Hollyoaks and was there for over a year perfecting her hair and makeup skills. She is bright, capable, reliable, hardworking, and eager to continue her development and learning. All of these qualities have made her transition extremely successful. She would be an excellent artist addition to your hair and makeup department.
